DSAOC is also a member of the Carroll Chamber of Commerce.  D/SAOC staff attends Friday morning coffees and are  given the opportunity to meet and greet business personnel; they have been very supportive of our agency and what we are trying to accomplish in the community.  

We feel that since we have started to provide services in these counties, we are making great strives to not only raise awareness of our services but build relationships and collaborations within the community that will be beneficial in helping us generate more resources for our clients.

Text Box: in a truck that pulled a 2007 Ford Focus which was to be given away at a DSAOC bowling tournament that was held in November in Manning.  

Although the car was not won, we did raise awareness and money for DSAOC.  We had approximately 20 participants who bowled in the tournament and raised close to $2,000.00.    We also participated in the Health Fair in Crawford County where D/SAOC staff distributed information about DSAOC services.  

In addition, our Minority Outreach Advocate held a Latino/Immigration informational seminar in October which was well attended by area Latino residents and a representative from the district Legal Aid office as Text Box: Since opening in mid-July of 2007, DSAOC in Carroll/Crawford Counties has been busy re-establishing services and connections in both of these communities.  Not only have we been busy assisting DV and SA victims, but many of our hours have consisted of attending local coalition meetings and presentations.  

Collaborating with other service providers assists in “covering all our bases,” when offering options for our clients.  We believe being out in the public brings “a face” to DSAOC.  

Since our opening we have been involved in and  have organized several community functions.  In September we represented D/SAOC in the Carroll Band Days Parade.  Our local staff rode Text Box: Domestic/Sexual Assault
