Domestic/Sexual Assault Outreach Center Foundation

On the journey from abuse to empowerment, D/SAOC helps create safe passage…

But what if there was no D/SAOC?

Every year, D/SAOC helps thousands of victims of domestic violence and sexual assault in eight central rural Iowa counties and puts lives back together by providing support, advocacy, and a safe environment. Through our many important services, we strive to empower victims to become stronger and self-sufficient.

With that philosophy as a guiding force—and in the face of steadily declining government funding—D/SAOC has taken an important step to becoming financially stronger and more self-reliant with the establishment of the D/SAOC FOUNDATION.

Our ability to raise endowment funds over the next few years will clearly impact the degree to which we can maintain and expand our current level of services to victims and their families for years to come.

During its long history, D/SAOC has been highly dependent upon government and other funding for its operations. While there is no guarantee that such support will be available in the future, we know that there will always be a need for our services. It is imperative that we build the D/SAOC Foundation through private gifts.

Annual interest from the foundation fund will be used to underwrite the valuable programs of D/SAOC. Our continued ability to help rebuild lives is critical to the quality of life for all citizens in our community and for the rural Iowa counties we service.

How is money given for the foundation?
